Seagate Expansion 1TB external Hard Drive Review


Seagate Expansion 1TB external Hard Drive provides more storage space for files; music, videos and games have become integrated in our everyday life.  Seagate Hard Drive also adds more space for the extra files it helps in consolidating all the specific files in one single location or free up the space on the PC’s internal drive.  Seagate Expansion  external Hard Drive is not as compact as the portable siblings it has the same look with different  dimensions  1.57”x4.96”x8.15” and the weight is approximately 2.25 pounds.  It is curvy rectangular in shape with black matte finish at the bottom part.  Seagate is scratch proof and the finger prints gets smudge on the drives body, the top portion of the Seagate Expansion is shiny black which gives the drive a stylish look.

 

There is a small LED which has a green light it indicates whether the power is on/off.  Seagate Expansion 1TB drive is portable and is powered from USB cable which has high speed USB drive and port for the power.   Seagate Expansions does not require external power supply.  There is no software to be installed; it is automatically recognised with windows.  It can transfer the data’s very fast at a rate of 480 Mbps  and the average data transferring is 400GB as there is USB 2.0 connectivity and 7200 RPM available.  Seagate 1TB External Hard Drive is powered with USB it has a built in power which helps to ensure energy efficient operations.  To attach the USB cable to the drive connect one end of the cord to the power socket on the back side of the external drive and the another end to the available USB port on the back side of the desktop.  The files can be transferred using drag and drop option. 



The green light of the Led button indicates the activity of the drive.  Seagate Expansion Hard Drive has backup option and it can automatically restore the settings, there is an indicator button which indicates when the drive goes to a sleep mode.  NTFS is a well known file system which helps the system make use of more storage space, in protecting the files using password settings and more significantly by formatting the external hard drive with 4KB clusters.  Once the formatting is completed there is free space of about 968GB.  One of the great features is that it can be installed easily, and the files can be transferred faster using the FireWire, or eSATA.  Seagate Expansion 1TB has a built in power management and it is energy efficient.
